Australia’s full-custom superyacht builder Echo Yachts
commences construction of world’s largest sailing catamaran superyacht

ASC57: 57m Adventure Sailing Catamaran

EchoSIX

Australia’s custom superyacht builder Echo Yachts has commenced construction of their latest creation, the ASC57, at their superyacht building facility in the Australian Marine Complex, Western Australia. This groundbreaking project brings together industry leaders from across the globe. In partnership with renowned Dutch sailing yacht designers Dykstra Naval Architects and Australia’s leading aluminium multihull experts One2Three Naval Architects, Echo Yachts will deliver the world’s largest sailing catamaran to date.

EchoONE

Drawing inspiration from Echo Yachts’ 2023 newbuild motor yacht M/Y Charley 2, the ASC57 sailing yacht will feature similar luxury accommodation, a vast array of water toys, and helicopter landing capabilities.

However, this superyacht introduces a twin-Dynarig sail system by Southern Spars, paired with Dykstra’s sleek and refined sailing yacht aesthetics. As a result of the addition of sail power, a regenerative power system will be installed, utilising twin shaft generators and a battery storage system to allow for silent running under sail. With a CPP driveline, this system also allows the vessel to utilise the main engines without the need to run separate generators to power the vessel more efficiently when motoring.

EchoTWO

EchoFOUR

With its hydrodynamic efficient aluminium hulls, full sail-powered propulsion, power regeneration and deployment options, the ASC57 offers significant eco-friendly performance advantages and greener modes of operation compared to traditional motor yachts.

Project Overview:

Echo Yachts are teamed with two renowned sailing and aluminium multihull design firms to deliver the ASC57 project. An extremely efficient aluminium hull form is complemented by twin Dynarigs providing a total sail area of some 1660 m2 for eco-efficient long range cruising. Weight reduction, simplicity and ease of operation will further characterize this project.

EchoSEVEN

The renowned Dykstra Naval Architects, of Amsterdam in The Netherlands, are providing the yacht’s exterior styling, layout and naval architecture, with an enviable list of project credentials including their iconic sailing yacht projects such as S/Y Black Pearl and S/Y Hetairos. Detailed naval architecture and structural design are being performed by Australian firm One2Three Naval Architects, the same aluminium and multihull design experts responsible for the Naval Architecture of the international award winning 84m aluminium trimaran superyacht M/Y White Rabbit delivered in 2018, and 56m catamaran superyacht M/Y Charley 2 delivered in 2023.

This new large-scale catamaran sailing yacht project sees Echo Yachts expand on their proven custom motor yacht construction capabilities, into the large sailing yacht market.

Dream Yacht Sales

BaliCatShareHEADER

If the idea of owning a cat appeals but the cost and the hassle don’t, a yachtshare opportunity could be just what you need – and it can also get you a sought-after Bali Catsmart. Dream Fractional eliminates many of the barriers for would-be yacht owners with a much lower buy-in cost.

BaliCatShareTHREE

Owners reap the benefit of the world recognised expertise of Dream Yacht Global in yacht sales, boat ownership programs and over 40 worldwide yacht charter destinations, and the team’s local knowledge and experience with Queensland Yacht Charter’s, Dream Yacht Sales and Bali Catamarans. The Bali Catsmart yachtshare opportunity in the Whitsundays is an exclusive offer of up to 8 shares in the owner’s version of the Bali Catsmart, which provides unprecedented living space with a dedicated private owner’s suite, complete with spacious ensuite, plus two further guest cabins with shared ensuite for friends and family.

 BaliCatShareFOUR

The Catsmart comes prepared for long distance cruising, with an ergonomic fully-equipped galley, a Code Zero sail, a watermaker and a full-spec air-conditioning system for your comfort. The Catsmart delivers all the unique features of the Bali catamaran range. There’s a maxi saloon lounge for 10 guests and a large chart table facing the sea, both of which are models of ergonomics and comfort. The ergonomically designed galley is located forward, meaning it sits central between the saloon and the forward cockpit, which means easy service either for interior dining or for alfresco meals and snacks in the forward cockpit and sunbathing area through the galley’s forward window.

 BaliCatShareFIVE

A key feature of Bali cats is the large tilt door that lifts the aft bulkhead and seamlessly connects the back of the boat to the front. This results in exceptional light, ventilation and clear open space without equal, creating more than 66 square metres of usable living space. The aft cockpit offers a place to relax, as well as providing stowage for all your gear, and the helm stations are accessible from both sides of the boat so the helmsman does not have to be alone. The open space design means there are plenty of areas to choose from so you and your guests can be together or can find privacy.

BaliCatShareTWO

Thanks to a wider sail plan and a boom lowered to the level of the coach roof for improved accessibility, the Catsmart is an extremely easy-to-handle boat that offers superb sailing pleasure. With twin helms aft on port and starboard, handling is effortless.

Dream Yacht Australia’s Managing Director Mr Christophe Vanek – who has acquired over 30 years of experience in professional yacht racing including three America’s Cup challenges, Maxi Multihull racing on the international circuit, 15 Sydney to Hobarts, and who is a qualified RYA Yachtmaster Offshore – offers

share owners the unique opportunity of coaching and tuition with the purchase of a share in the Bali Catsmart.

Halyna, the Bali 4.4 Yacht Share

Halyna

Halyna, the Bali 4.4, managed by Yacht Share Mariner, is currently operating from Hamilton Island Marina – located less than a kilometer from the check in counter at the Hamilton Island Airport.  Book in with the marina and Milly will arrange a transfer for you.  Halyna’s berth in the marina is #RS 4, which is across the road from the ING supermarket, and they  will do your provisioning if you request it.

A 1/8th. share in Halyna with an entitlement of up to 6 weeks on the water per year is $225,000 and there is a management fee of $1,450 per month. The yacht spends 7 months in the Whitsundays and 5 months between Sydney and Port Stephens during the summer.

Hamilton Island is the beating heart of the Whitsunday Islands, and the nearest anchorage is less than a half an hour away from the marina entrance. When you return from your cruise you simply call for the concierge service at the marina office and they will assist with your refueling and berthing.

At the check in Jennie Howcroft from Elite Marine Services will check you in and arrange any work that may need doing.

Because the capital and running costs of Halyna are shared your expense at the end of the day will be a fraction of what it would otherwise be. If you are quick you could still be lucky.
